PowerPressed adds annual pricing and new web portal to recently announced pricing and support model

PowerPressed today announces more major developments in its continued focus on the fast-growing Microsoft® PowerPoint® compression and optimisation marketplace.

Having recently announced a completely new pricing and support model (see release dated 26th October 2006) PowerPressed now introduces a new website, a new e-commerce and support portal and an exceptionally low cost annual pricing option for customers. 

This additional initiative consists of three main elements –

  • Annual pricing.  The recent release outlined a major change in PowerPressed pricing, with full licenses (no annual renewal) reducing to only £9.99, $19.99 (USD) or €14.99 per user.  This pricing makes PowerPressed the best value product by far for PowerPoint® compression.  PowerPressed also recognises that some users may only have a short term need or might want to try the full product for a more extended period than the free trial.  In view of this, PowerPressed today announces a one year license (full function product) for only £5.99, $11.99 or €8.50 per user.  This further reinforces the PowerPressed ‘best value’ positioning in the marketplace and extends customer choice.
  • New online portal.  PowerPressed today announces the immediate availability of a new e-commerce portal on the corporate site (www.powerpressed.com) which delivers self service quotation and purchasing across the globe. At the same time the portal will add substantial capability to the support and FAQ functions requested by our customers.  Both of these new capabilities have been extensively tested with customers and end-users and deliver the functions they requested of us.
  • New website.  Having completely restructured the pricing and support models, developed a new purchasing portal and improved the support function we decided it would be worth completely revamping our corporate website.  PowerPressed announces today that the all-new website (again with many improvements requested by our customers) is now available at www.powerpressed.com

PowerPressed today announces several major developments in its continued focus on the fast-growing Microsoft PowerPoint® compression and optimisation marketplace.

Having already achieved market leadership and very substantial penetration into a broad range of corporate organisations across the world, PowerPressed today announces a completely new pricing and support model to broaden and extend its market reach. 

The new pricing approach is designed to allow ALL users and consumers of Microsoft® PowerPoint® to gain the benefits of PowerPressed, not just corporate customers.

This new initiative consists of three main elements –

  • ‘Hub’ licensing.  Individual licensing can be slow and overly complex for larger organisations.  But at the same time enterprise-wide licenses can be too expensive as a starting point.  PowerPressed today launches a new version of its highly successful ‘Hub’ licensing model which allows for a ‘middle path’ between individual and enterprise licensing.  These ‘hubs’ allow organisations to quickly and simply buy a pre-set ‘box’ of licenses ranging in size from 50 to 5,000 (and above).  These are then issued and used as needed internally.  This concept reduces administration overhead and also provides additional pricing benefits to the purchaser.
  • No upgrade charges.  PowerPressed is keen to prove the value of the technology – without burdening users with unexpected future costs.  Today, PowerPressed announces that when users take advantage of our acclaimed support offering (now also reduced in price to the lowest level ever) ALL future upgrade charges are dropped.  With PowerPressed, users get long-term satisfaction, always stay ahead of the market and have no nasty upgrade charges.  When combined with the other initiatives detailed above, our new support and upgrade policy offers a compelling reason for even the most occasional PowerPoint®  user to benefit from PowerPressed for file compression and optimisation.

PhotokinaPowerPressed exhibits at photokina 2006

PowerPressed© (www.powerpressed.com) will be exhibiting at photokina 2006 in Cologne from 26th September to 1st October.

Photokina Cologne is Europe’s largest exhibition for image management and communication.  The event is rightly regarded as the major platform for showcasing new technology in this sector.  PowerPressed will be exhibiting the latest release of its highly acclaimed product in hall 10.2, Stand  A016.

PowerPressed for PowerPoint is an industry-leading product which reduces the file size (and therefore the associated network load) of PowerPoint files.  The PowerPoint presentation remains a ‘.PPT’ and is completely standard and unaltered for the user.  The recipient receives a normal PowerPoint file (just a lot smaller than it was).  A recent White Paper, produced by PowerPressed in conjunction with BT Wholesale, identified substantial network cost savings and efficiency benefits which result from the adoption of PowerPressed. “PowerPressed is one of those $50 software products that does one thing only, but does it well (going where no WinZip has gone before).  It compresses PowerPoint presentations so that they can more easily be mailed around (in a way that allows them to slip through email gateways that often restrict the size of emails that are allowed in or out of a company's network (I've had this problem where people send me very large attachments and they never make it to me). 

On the show floor here, PowerPress took a 16MB presentation and shrunk it down to under 1MB.  The company claims an average compression rate of 95 percent.  In other words, the final file is 5 percent the size of the original. I haven't tested it and I didn't check the presentation they were compressing for its graphics:text ratio. But, based on what I saw, it might be worth $50 to give this product a try if you find yourself mailing PowerPoint presentations around the way a lot of people do."

Will Westley appointed as Managing Director of PowerPressed

PowerPressed is delighted to announce that Will Westley has been appointed as Managing Director of Fortressgate Ltd with full executive responsibility for the company that brought PowerPressed (www.powerpressed.com) to the market.

Will has over twenty years’ senior board level business leadership experience, mobilising new business ventures and instilling operational excellence across a broad spectrum of organisations.

He joins PowerPressed from BT PLC where he was Director of Operations for BT Livetime, now known as BT Movio.

There he led all development of Operations and Technology of BT Livetime from conception to reality and delivered the first Live Digital TV broadcast streamed services and Digital Radio to mobile phones using DAB technology in June 2005. The successful Pilot in London, the U.K.’s largest live trial, confirmed the consumer appetite for the commercial launch of BT Movio.

Will’s extensive experience includes the development and international distribution of software solutions and ISP services to major enterprises, and high street U.K and U.S brand names through the U.K., Europe and U.S.A.  His Web services included fully interactive training portals for major finance houses including Lloyds TSB and managed server solutions for the music distribution industry including chart information service and special international events.

PowerPressed© announces today the immediate availability of two new tools to assist prospective users of the market-leading PowerPressed© for PowerPoint® product, which optimizes and compresses PowerPoint® files by up to 95%.  A detailed Return on Investment (ROI) White Paper (created in conjunction with BT Wholesale®) and a downloadable software tool – the PowerAnalyzer© – combine to enable individuals and organizations to measure the results they will achieve when they use PowerPressed©.

PowerAnalyzer.  Many organizations promise great results when their products are used.  Far fewer are willing to prove those results before purchase.  The PowerPressed PowerAnalyzer tool is a downloadable software product – available free of charge on www.powerpressed.com – which analyses the current level of PowerPoint (.ppt) and other files on the local system or network drive (including those embedded inside local or network Outlook folders) .  PowerAnalyzer also asks the user a few basic questions about their PowerPoint usage and then delivers detailed reports, based on this data, which outline hardware and other hard savings which will be achieved through the use of PowerPressed.

PowerPressed© is delighted to announce today that Software Spectrum UK (www.softwarespectrum.co.uk), part of Software Spectrum Inc, the world’s largest Microsoft® reseller, have reached an agreement under which Software Spectrum UK has become a reseller of the industry-leading PowerPressed© for PowerPoint® product.

Software Spectrum, a Level 3 Communications (Nasdaq: LVLT) subsidiary, is a global business-to-business software services company dedicated to providing enterprise software asset management solutions to help organizations increase business value from information technology.  The Software Spectrum UK Ltd. subsidiary was formed in 1985 and currently employs over 40 people based in the UK. With support from their European Operations Centre, they supply software services into the UK and Irish markets.
